Persia���s geopolitical importance at the end of the 19th century made it a central focus in the "great game" of diplomatic rivalry between the major imperial powers. This archive traces the emergence of modern Iran through the Constitutional Revolution of 1905-1911 and the establishment and reign of the Pahlavi Dynasty into the 1950s.
