A Printz Award-Winning Author
Mila is used to being alone. Maybe that's why she said yes to the opportunity: living in this remote place, among the flowers and the fog and the crash of waves far below. But she hadn't known about the ghosts. At eighteen, Mila has officially aged out of the foster care system, so when Terry and Julia, caretakers of The Farm, offer her a job and a place to stay, Mila hopes that maybe she will finally find a home. Her main job is to take care of eight-year-old Lee, whose more recent trauma causes Mila's own frightening memories to rise to the surface.
